Personality & Behavior
Peugout may not win any beauty contests, but he more than makes up for what he lacks in looks with his pure and gentle heart. This calm and loyal boy has endured so much pain in his life. Chained up and defenseless, he suffered attacks from bigger dogs, with nowhere to hide. His eyes tell a story of sadness and resilience; all he needs now is someone to see beyond his scars and into his incredible heart.
When Peugout arrived at the shelter, he was in terrible condition, battling a severe ear infection from past injuries. Despite our care, ear infections have returned, but he’s bravely enduring treatment. Recently, he also tested positive for heartworm, leading to a failed adoption when the potential adopter gave up on him. But we haven’t given up on Peugout, and neither should you—he’s receiving treatment and will recover, just like so many others we’ve fought for.
Peugout is a protector of the vulnerable, especially the puppies at the shelter, and his calm demeanor makes him a truly special companion. He deserves so much more than what life has given him so far.
Adoption Requirements
Home type : A calm, stable environment, no loud or chaotic households. A secure garden or yard where he can relax and feel safe. A cozy indoor space to rest, especially as he undergoes heartworm treatment.
Experience level : Peugout deserves a loving and patient home where he can finally experience comfort and security after a lifetime of hardship. His ideal family would be compassionate, understanding, and willing to give him the time and care he needs as he continues his recovery.
Other pets/kids A home with another dog would be wonderful, as Peugout enjoys their companionship.
