Personality & Behavior
Leo’s story is one of resilience and hope. Rescued by one of our volunteers, along with his companion Baxter, Leo came from a life of misery, chained in a backyard, neglected, and left without love. Understandably, he was timid and distrustful of humans at first, but this sweet boy has made remarkable progress since then.
Leo has overcome both heartworm treatment and much of his fear of people. While he’s still a little shy, his kind nature shines through. He is not aggressive in the slightest and gets along well with other dogs, making him a perfect addition to a home with furry friends.
This lovable boy just needs patience, kindness, and a safe space to continue blossoming. With a couple of good meals a day, some tasty treats, and lots of love, Leo will become the most devoted and loyal companion you could ever hope for.
Adoption Requirements
Home type: A secure yard would be ideal for Leo to explore at his own pace and build confidence.
Experience level : Great for first-time owners and experienced dog owners.
Other pets/kids : He would do well in a home with other friendly, calm dogs who can help him feel more at ease and show him the ropes. A home without young children is preferred, as their energy might overwhelm him.
