Personality & Behavior
Zara’s journey has been filled with challenges, but her strength and resilience shine through. Rescued at the end of 2022 after being abandoned in a field next to a railway line, she spent her days alone, scared, and without shelter, only surviving on the little food and water left for her. Understandably, she was petrified of humans, especially men.
With time and patience, Zara has started to trust again, and while she is still wary of some strangers, she has come a long way. She loves being off-lead on walks, so she would thrive in a home with a large, securely fenced garden, where she can enjoy the freedom she craves.
At the shelter, Zara struggled to adjust at first, refusing food and staying curled up in a corner. But everything changed when she met Maxim, a calm and friendly companion who has helped her gain confidence. Now, she accepts cuddles and is beginning to enjoy life again. She shares her space with Maxim and Bobbi and does well with them, but she needs to be fed separately.
Adoption Requirements
Home type : A peaceful home with a secure, fenced garden where she can feel safe and free.
Experience : Patient and understanding adopters, ideally with experience in helping shy or anxious dogs build trust. Someone who enjoys gentle walks in nature where she can be off-lead in a secure area.
Other pets/kids : A calm and balanced dog companion (like Maxim) could help her continue to blossom. No small, fragile dogs due to her history of minor incidents with them.
